Curious about what to expect from pet photography session?

Whether you have a high energy puppy, a happy-go-lucky family pet, special needs senior dog, or a shy rescue pup, my goal is to ensure you and your dog have the most enjoyable and stress-free experience as possible. Check out the rundown of before, during, and after your session below to get an idea of how we can tailor your session to your dog in order to make sure they’re happy, engaged, and at the heart of everything we do, as well as what you can expect each step of the way.

Booking Your Session

If your dog ready for their moment in the spotlight, your first step is to Book Your Professional Pet Photography Session Here by filling out the new client questionnaire to request your photo shoot. I will return your inquiry within 1-2 business days. ( Be sure to check your Spam folder if you haven’t received a response from me. )

Once I receive your submission I’ll be in touch to chat about some Columbus-area park options that I think would be a good fit for your dog’s photo shoot based on their individual needs and personality as well as the type of images you’re looking for. I'll also offer you a list of available dates. For outdoor shoots, you will choose one preferred shoot date and one back-up rain date—just in case we need to reschedule due to bad weather. (You know how Ohio can be).

I will be in touch the day before your photo shoot to confirm the forecast is looking good, as well as provide you meeting details and some helpful tips to prepare for your dog’s photo shoot.

During Your Pet Photography Session

I'll begin our session by taking a moment to meet your dog and get them comfortable with me and my camera gear before we start photographing.

We’ll keep your dog on-leash during our session. This keeps them safe, and I remove the leash afterwords with the magic of Photoshop.

While we are shooting, we will use a couple different areas within the park so we get a variety of backgrounds for your pet’s photos. We’ll be sure to select spots that are comfortable for your dog and will never pressure them into an unsafe or stressful situation. We'll work at your dog's pace and take breaks as they need them. We’ll use lots of tasty rewards, loads of praise, and fun opportunities to do some of your dog’s favorite things to make sure they are happy and interested in what is happening during our session. Many clients report that their dog had such a great time that they fell asleep still smiling on the drive home from our session.

After Your Session

Next up is editing. I will select the best, most flattering images to edit for your gallery. Each package comes with a different amount of images, so the total number of photos in your gallery will be dependent on the package you select.

I will post a preview on my Instagram a few days after your session and then will do a larger sneak peek about 10-14 days after your session on my Facebook Page. It takes about 3-4 weeks to finish editing your images. One they’re ready, you will receive a link to your final, edited online gallery. From there you'll be able to view, share, and download the hi-res files.

Here’s what clients have said about their professional pet photography experience working with Ohio’s premier dog photographer:

To say this was a wonderful experience is an understatement. It was joyful, fun and Holly made it effortlessly easy for us. She was amazing with our high energy dog and helped create a safe space for him. The photos will be forever on our walls until the next time we book with her for updates.” - Ashley B.

I was impressed with how in-tune she was with our dog's body language - it was clear that Holly is invested in a comfortable, positive experience for pups as well as people!” - Erica L.

We used Holly for an End of Life pet session. It was unexpected, and Holly was incredibly sensitive and accommodating to us during an emotional and challenging time. These photos give me such peace as a special momento of our bond, and they are a treasure. My dog had such a great time at the session, and so enjoyed her time outdoors with our family. It ended up being her last night, and what a blessing it was. I would encourage anyone to do an End of Life pet session, and absolutely to use Holly. I will never have enough words to thank Holly for the gift she gave us with these photos.” - Brynn B.

Holly is an absolute master of her craft, knowing what shots to get when, even just sensing when your dog needs to take a bit of a break (because being a model doesn't come easily to all of our four legged friends). She managed to capture the essence of my dog, and I think that is the best compliment that I could give her. It was such an awesome experience and money well spent” - Daniel D.

Holly took amazing photos of my dog. Even though he was anxious and sometimes uncooperative, Holly was able to coax some great expressions and poses from him. When I adopted a second dog, I hired Holly to photograph him, too. The resulting photos were breathtaking” - Chuck C.
