Fall Dog Photography Session in Columbus, Ohio | Juniper & Sequoia's Creek Adventure
If I could have custom-ordered the perfect day for a dog photography session, it probably would have looked exactly like this one.
Juniper and Sequoia's fall pet photoshoot in Columbus, Ohio had everything we could have hoped for:
Gorgeous doggy models
Vibrant autumn colors
A creek perfect for splashing and exploring
Ideal weather
A stunning sunset to finish the evening
Some sessions come together beautifully, and this was definitely one of them.
From the moment we arrived, Juniper and Sequoia were ready for an adventure. Rather than spending the session worrying about posing perfectly, they got to do what dogs do best: explore, sniff, play, splash through the water, and spend time with the people who love them most.
One of the biggest misconceptions people have before booking a pet photography session is that their dog has to sit perfectly still and obey every command. The truth is that most dogs don't. In fact, many of my favorite images happen while dogs are moving, playing, and exploring their surroundings.
As a professional pet photographer, my job isn't to expect dogs to act like furry statues. It's to work with their personalities, anticipate moments before they happen, and create beautiful portraits that capture who they really are. Whether your dog is a highly trained obedience champion or an energetic goofball who can't sit still, we can create incredible images together.
Juniper and Sequoia were the perfect example. They spent part of their session racing through the creek, splashing in the water, and enjoying a playdate together. Those candid moments often tell a much richer story than a perfectly posed portrait ever could.
Looking through these photographs, it's impossible not to smile. They capture everything I love about dog photography: genuine personalities, authentic moments, beautiful lighting, and the special quirks that make every dog unique.
If you've been considering booking a photo shoot for your dog but worry that your dog is "too energetic," "won't sit still," or "isn't trained enough," don't let that stop you. Some of the most memorable photographs come from dogs simply being dogs!
