When Alby's family reached out to me, they had just received some heartbreaking news: Alby had been diagnosed with lymphoma. In the face of such a difficult diagnosis, they wanted to make the most of their remaining time together by capturing a few more beautiful memories of Alby while he was still feeling good.
We did this special photoshoot at Alby's favorite place, Scioto Audubon Metro Park in Columbus, Ohio. It’s a spot he knows and loves, which made it the perfect backdrop for an experience that was as comfortable and joyful as possible. Alby was joined by his furry sibling and best friend, Meeko—his constant companion.
Sessions like this are a reminder of why I do what I do. Photography becomes a way to hold on to the joy, the love, and the personality of our pets, especially during uncertain times. Alby may be going through chemo, but on this day, he was full of life—soaking up cuddles, sunshine, and everything he loves.
